Welcome to the College of Agriculture, Hassan, as part of government policy to ruralize Agricultural education in the country and knowing the importance of agricultural education in rural areas, the University of Agricultural Sciences, Bangalore has rightly selected Hassan as the ideal location to start Agricultural College. The district has varied agro-climatic conditions congenial for growing of various field as well as fruits and plantation crops. The college would help the farming community of the state in general and Hassan district in particular by way of producing well trained manpower, genuine agricultural inputs like seeds, planting materials and other information from time to time for overall development of the rural community.

The College of Agriculture, Hassan offers three degree programmes namely B.Sc.(Agri.), B.Tech (Biotech.) and B.Tech.(Food Sci. and Tech.) and Separate infrastructures have been created for each of the degree program. The College is located near Karekere, at 19 Kms from Hassan on National Highway-48 (Bangalore-Mangalore) towards Bangalore. Hassan is well connected by road and train facilities. The total area of the college is 184.25 acres and total strength of the students is 771. The college has well equipped class rooms, sports and library facilities.

The College accredited by ICAR New Delhi and implemented the recommendations of the Fifth Deans’ Committee of ICAR with effect from the academic year 2016-17. with a total credits of 183 which is common for all the UG degree programmes across the Country. Further, the extra curricular activities like NSS, physical education and yoga practices have been included as a part of syllabus. A new programme on student READY (Rural Entrepreneurship Awareness and Development Yojana) has been introduced from the academic year 2016-17.
