I am happy to extend warm welcome to the Dean of Student Welfare wing of the UAS, Bangalore. We play a pivotal role in the overall development of students through organizing various co-curricular activities like sports & games, cultural events, performing arts, fine arts and literary events etc. Our Directorate meticulously works towards showcasing the latent potential of the students which created a treasure trove of talents and resulted in enthusiastic participation of the university in various All India level competitions. We promote Physical education, NSS, NCC besides dealing with student’s misconduct, excessive absenteeism and other such irregularities for ensuring discipline among the student community on the campus. Students take active participation in various club activities, study centres, recreation centres etc., that inculcate leadership qualities among them. All round Personality development of students is one of the prime motos where in skills – inter personal skills, communication skills, interview skills, study skills, stress management, risk management and career advancement etc., is promoted by getting the experts training.
Along with the extramural activities, the directorate also oversees hostels equipped with modern facilities in different campuses. Further, the well maintained International hostel with high-quality amenities and a proactive Foreign Students Centre attract many students from overseas. Placement Cell is providing on-campus placements for the better career of students in consultation with different organizations, firms and industries. Health programmes and medical facilities for the students are being provided. Besides, Compulsory Group Health Insurance scheme has been introduced for providing better health services.
This apart, the directorate celebrates all the national festivals like Independence Day, Republic Day, Gandhi Jayanthi etc., with fervour and gaiety in a befitting manner. Observance of Communal Harmony Fortnight and Sadbhavana Day promote communal harmony on the campus and off the campus too.
