Mandates :
- To conduct research for developing viable weed management technologies in crop and non- crop situations
- Coordinate network research in weed management in different agro ecological regions
Research Programmes :
- Development of location specific sustainable weed management practices in major crops and cropping system
- Weed Management under conservation tillage based cropping systems
- Weed management strategies in organic agriculture/natural farming
- Management of Parasitic weeds
- Management of weeds in non- cropped and aquatic areas
- Identification of weeds of national importance
- Assessment/ Fate of herbicide residues in different agro ecosystems, high-value crops, long term tillage experiments etc.
Research Accomplishments :
Thirty weed management technologies were recommended for inclusion in the Package of Practices of UAS, Bangalore for the benefit of farming community.

- “Best stall award” during Krishi mela -2006 and National Agricultural Machinery Exhibition
