RAWEP 2024

College of Agriculture, GKVK is facilitating the Rural Agricultural Work Experience Programme as part of the Student READY program for final year Undergraduate STudents in Agriculture and Agribusiness Management. these students are assigned to 15 villages across Tumakuru, Bengaluru Rural, Chikkaballapura and Ramanagara districts for 90 days, allowing them to gain hands-on-experinece andenhance their communication skills. students have employed PRA techniques to validate the data collected. Layout operations for establishing a Farmers Participatory Tecnology Demonstration Park have been initiated in the villages.

THE DEPARTMENT OF AGRICULTURAL EXTENSION, CoA, GKVK in collaboration with the Veterinary College, the Department of AH&VS, Alumni Association of UAS-B, IAT-Bangalore, Credit Access India Pvt. Ltd. and the KARUNA Animal Welfare association successfully conducted 11 Animal Health Campaigns in the RAWE villages. More than 390 animals were assessed for infertility issues and 197 animals received deworming treatment. Additionally, 108 group discussion meetings, 11 training sessions focused on bakery product preparation, 13 programs on biofuel, 10 mass tree planting initiatives, 28 skill development activities, and others were held.

HOT Exhibition

On 29th May 2024, a photographic competition cum exhibition was organized by the Department of Agricultural Extension in the North Block. The students of Hands on Training in Multimedia Production and Journalism participated in the programme. Honourable Vice-chancellor, UASB released the HOT newsletter in the event and also distributed the prizes for the winners of the competition.
