Department of Agricultural Engineering offers four courses for B.Sc (Hons) Agri. and five courses to Diploma (Agri.) programs. The courses focus on the science and engineering aspects of Natural Resource Management and Conservation and how to help today’s agricultural methods and products to meet global and national food and livelihood demands. The department is involved in imparting skills to students in the development and demonstration of technologies related to the Agricultural Engineering disciplines such as Soil and Water Conservation Engineering, Farm Machinery and Power, Renewable Energy and Green technology applications in Agriculture and Protected Cultivation and secondary agriculture. Apart from the above, the department is keenly taking note of the water management and land reclamation studies (drainage of agricultural lands) under the KRS canal command area.
The basic vision of imparting agricultural engineering theories and practical’s to agricultural graduates is to build human resource for making Indian agriculture sustainable, profitable and a competitive enterprise through engineering interventions of soil and water conservation, irrigation water management, farm mechanization, value addition, mechanization of small and marginal farmers and energy management in production and post-harvest operations.
