Cultural Centre – GKVK

College of Agricultural (GKVK) has a cultural center to empower student leaders to explore, celebrate and educate the campus community about the diversity among them. Cultural group named ‘Bhoomika’ has been created to ensure active participation of students thus plays an integral role in students’ personality development. The facilities like auditorium equipped with light, music and sound arrangements, green rooms, the musical instruments and other accessories are provided for the practice of different events such as Music, Dance, Theatre, Fine Arts and Literary events.

An aim of organizing different cultural events during fresher’s day, annual day, inter-collegiate youth festivals, NSS programmes, National day celebrations (Independence Day and Republic day) and State programs like Kannada Thingala Habba and Kannada Rajyostava, Krishimela, etc., is to give the opportunity to students and to involve them in culturally enriching activities. Active involvement of students in these programs ensures the platform for their participation in Zonal and National level cultural competitions like All India Inter-Agricultural Universities Youth festivals (Agri-Unifest), National Inter-University Youth Festival (AIU UniFest), South Zone Inter-University Youth Festival, National Integration Camps and other cultural competitions. These activities provide students to explore themselves in different areas of expertise and appreciate our cultural diversity.

It also helps students to identify themselves with the University and improves organizational, presentation, leadership and interpersonal communication skills. College level cultural committee has been formed with a group of faculties who are expertise in cultural activities to train, monitor and organize different activities. Faculties including teaching and non-teaching staffs are also actively involved in different stage performances like mythological drams, singing, dancing and conducting cultural competitions, thus offering an inclusive and reflective space, multicultural programming, and support services to encourage positive interaction, academic persistence and growth among students, faculty and staff.
