Mandates:

·To conduct coordinated trials for reducing crop losses caused by nematode pests

·To demonstrate the nematode management technologies through on-farm trilals

Research Programmes:

A. Divesity And Distribuation mapping of economically important nematodes in the country

B. Management of major  nematode pests  of cereals

C. Management of major nematode pests of vegetable crops

D. Management of major nematode pests of pulse and Fodder crops

F. Management of major nematode pests  in Fruit and spices

H. Isolation evaluation and mass multiplication of nematode antagonistic microorganisms

v  Nursery application with Pseudomonas fluorescens @ 20 g/m2 followed by neem cake  @ 100 g /sq. m. for the management of  rice root-knot nematode, Meloidogyne graminicola on rice in organic farming system

Pasteuria penetrans @ 10 g culture (1×108 spores/g)/sq. m.  before sowing   for the management of root-knot nematode, Meloidogyne incognita in nursery beds of tomato

Pasteuria penetrans @ 10 g culture (1×108 spores/g)/sq. m.  before sowing   for the management of  root-knot nematode, Meloidogyne incognita in nursery beds of  brinjal

Glomus fasciculatum @ 50 g culture (200 spores/g)/sq. m. before sowing for the management of  root-knot nematode, Meloidogyne incognita in nursery beds of brinjal

Glomus fasciculatum @ 50 g culture (200 spores/g)/sq. m. before sowing for the management of  root-knot nematode, Meloidogyne incognita in nursery beds of tomato

Pasteuria penetrans @ 5×107 spores/g root powder mixed with 200 cc sand and evenly distributed per plant at planting and 45 days after planting  for the management of  root-knot nematode (Meloidogyne incognita) in banana

v  Paring and pralinage operations in banana for the management of  the burrowing nematode, Radopholus similis infesting banana

v  Intercropping tomato with sweet potato cv. Shree Bhadra for the management of  root-knot nematode, Meloidogyne incognita
