The unique contribution of Agronomy as a discipline of Agricultural Sciencesis to provide the integration of Physical, Chemical and Biological knowledgeinto useful production systems by efficient utilization of both on-farm and offfarmresources. We build excellent human resource to meet the challenges of agricultural production by offering Ph.D., M.Sc.(Agri.), B.Sc.(Hons.) Agri. and Diploma Agri. courses from the department. With well furnished laboratory, crop cafeteria, field unit and meteorology unit are available to encourage the students to develop different entrepreneur skillsby exposingthem and involving in quality seed production, composting and best crop management practices. Students are trained to excel in various national examinations viz. JRF/SRF. The identified priority areas for PG research are Climate Resilient Agriculture, Precision water, nutrient and weed management, Nano technology, bio fortification, IFS, Organic farming, yield maximization in major field and forage crops, bio-energy management, farm mechanization, NRM to bridge the yield gap.
