Mandate : To develop location and crop specific post-harvest engineering and technologies for reduction in quantitative and qualitative losses of farm produce and to adopt/develop post-harvest processes and equipment for value addition that would lead to higher income and employment generation in target areas. | ||||||
Research Projects in operation as on Sept, 2023 :
1.Development of sub-baric processor for conditioning, roasting and popping of millets. 2.Development of millet based instant mixes for diversified uses. 3.Optimization of process protocol for development of millet based kori rotti. 4.Enzymatic modification of protein isolate(/s) from sunflower seed de-oiled cake and its utilization/application in food product. Research Activities in operation as on Sept, 2023 : 1. Parboiling studies to improve milling, functional and nutritional properties of buckwheat. 2. Development of PCM based reusable device for cooling beverages and liquid foods: A novel approach to replace ice in glass. 3. Value chain of tamarind. |
